What motivates giving - insights from behavioural science
DESCRIPTION If you think of academic research into philanthropy, you'd probably associate it with its conceptual elements - what philanthropy is, whether it should happen, what are its effects and so on. However, academic research has probably covered most ground in the area of donor motivations and how the brain works when people donate. This Alliance content is part of the Alliance + IssueLab Special Collection.
Explore social sector research about the field of science, and scientific research of particular interest to the social sector. This can include philanthropic activity related to science, science’s impact on economic development, or work in STEM education. It also includes scientific research that informs other social sector Issue Areas. For example, social science research on implicit bias and racism, or research about greenhouse gases and climate change.
